The Metron2 is an affordable, easy to use wireless telemetry device suited to a great many applications but specifically remote tank level monitoring. It incorporates many advanced technical features that enhance the user experience and bring down the solution cost.

The savings that can be made by knowing what is in your customers tanks are significant, and the Metron ATEX is a very quick and easy way to get tank level readings from remote locations and interface them into you IT infrastructure and ERP system.

Metron2 - sim over the air update mode. Press 'up' to bring the unit out of sleep mode then navigate to system / sim update mode and select the time that you want it to go into this mode for.

In order to test the unit you can select 'force transmit' from the menu which makes the unit take readings from any configured input channels and then transmit them - the progress bar shows you how things are going. You can see the signal strength indicator in the top left of the screen verifyig that the unit is connected to the mobile phone network.

Navigate through the menu to easily see the signal strength that you have on the mobile phone network - the example here already has the modem powered as it is in polling mode (ie the unit has an external power source and has been configured so that you can request readings from the unit) - when the unit is in polling mode then there is a P on the top of the screen. The unit leaves polling mode, checks the signal strength and displays the signal on the screen - orange is a UK network provider.

When you have a sensor powered you can easily see if the input is drawing too much current. Here the value slowly increases until it is drawing too much current - the led associated to the input changes colour and eventually the display flashes (inverted).

You can navigate through the menu and power a sensor for 60 seconds - during this time you can see the value coming from the sensor in a number of ways as well as what the excitation voltage going to the sensor is. Press the up or down button to reset the timer back to 60 seconds.

If configured to do so the Metron2 can be 'woken up' by simply pressing one button on the unit and it will then power the configured sensors in turn and display the readings onthe screen. The display will show the tag name that has programmed intothe device as well as the units of measure
