Human Machine Interface (or HMI's) are normally used in conjunction with Programmable Logic Controllers (plc's) and allow for multiple pages of text and sometimes graphics to be displayed. As the name suggests, HMI's allow the user to interface to the machine and therefore many HMI's allow the operator to input data and alter parameters.
