Optical Sensors

A wide range of high performance colour sensors to suit many applications. Using the same principal as a human eye, the light reflected from the surface is split up into the 3 basic colours. This ‘threefield’ method allows the recognition of almost every visible surface at a rate of up to 10,000 measurements a second.

A series of Laser Distance Sensors for a wide variety of applications. Laser sensors, such as laser distance  sensors, laser micrometers and laser beam sensors, measure distance and detect objects with high precision without contact.

Fibre optic sensors with rapid response, long range and analogue outputs. In situations where access is restricted but performance cannot be compromised fibre optic sensors offer excellent performance. We are able to offer units with analogue outputs coupled to a wide range of fibre optic head designs.

We are pleased to be able to offer to you the widest range of fork sensor and fork light barriers on the market.  Often referred to as slot sensors, they operate as through beam sensors, but with the transmitter, receiver and all the electronics in one robust metal casing for quick and simple installation.  This means that there is no need for complex mounting brackets or mechanical adjustment. Very small parts can be very precisely positioned and very fast movements reliably detected, thanks to the high switching frequency, the short response time and the high resolution.

Our frame and ring light barriers are the optimal solution for detecting metallic or non-metallic parts. A number of photocells form a light curtain (light corridor) and detect parts as small as 0.7 mm.

Typical applications include counting very small parts, the length measurement of parts at a constant feed speed and checking for the ejection of parts to protect tools on presses and punches. Patented technical specialties, sturdy casings and height protection classes feature these frame and ring light barriers and sensors.
