Powelectrics Packs a Punch With New People and Products In the Pipeline!

Posted on 04 Apr 2019

Following on from a record-breaking 2018, Powelectrics are delighted to announce another successful quarter. 2019 has started well and Q2 has kicked off with a strong order book, an ever-increasing number of enquiries and our best developed sales pipeline ever.

In recognition of their fabulous efforts, the whole Powelectrics team will benefit from another quarterly bonus. We have strengthened our engineering department and are currently recruiting for various posts including at executive level in preparation for our next growth phase.

Dave Oakes, Powelectrics MD “We are so excited about our growth and looking forward to welcoming more new team members who share our ethos and will contribute towards our goals.

I was recently asked, by an interviewee, what I like most about my role. Great question! Easy answer too! I get enormous satisfaction from seeing our connected sensor solutions making a difference! I love hearing customers enthuse about how our IoT has helped them work more efficiently …  cutting costs, preventing breakdowns, improving safety and adding new revenue streams. If you would like some examples, please explore the other articles in this news section. There are around 80 stories from the last year!

Not only are we are building our team to help even more businesses achieve their objectives, we are developing some fantastic new technology!

The new Metron4 telemetry device has completed ‘first in class’ testing with flying colours. This builds on the award-winning Metron2, but has been extended to incorporate 4G (NBIoT/Cat M1), with 2G fall-back, thus future proofing our clients from changes in years to come.”

The Metron4 will be able to operate in ‘2G only’ mode for maximum flexibility and use battery optimisation to maximise performance in regions where the networks are not yet available. They can be easily reconfigured (by users, or by us remotely) to embrace 4G (NBIoT/Cat M1) as the networks are developed. We expect to have this ground-breaking product available from Q3. I can’t wait to see the impact this cutting-edge technology will have in our markets!”

The Powelectrics development programme also encompasses extending Metron2 features and creating a more agile firmware structure, to allow for easy customisation of the Metron solution to specific applications. It’s an exciting time to be at Powelectrics! We welcome enquiries and we can work with you to create bespoke ‘connected sensor’ solutions.

Our developments and innovations have not been limited to hardware as we have been integrating more third party M2M devices into our MetronView cloud such as the Thingsee multichannel datalogger with integrated sensors, used in the rail industry amongst others.

This is an ongoing process. MetronView already supports over 140 protocols including MODBUS, MQTT, HTTP, TCP, UDP, SERIAL, SIGFOX, SNMP making it exceptionally versatile. MetronView is highly secure and scalable, processing millions of readings every day, whilst only using a fraction of its processing capabilities.

MetronView also offers a standard API, which means it can function as middleware to bring reliable sensor data securely into other platforms and portals.  This can be done by customers or we can create portals for you. Examples include: tank management, energy metering, vending machines, train condition monitoring and waste compactors. MetronView can interface with software such as Navision, SAP, SCADA systems or platforms such as IBM Cloud (Watson), Microsoft  Azure, AWS and Miimetiq.

Powelectrics represents a true connection between the world of sensors and the Internet of Things. Our ‘connected sensor’ solutions are employed in an enormous range of industries across the globe, including chemical, pharmaceuticals, Adblue, fuels, oils, LPG and lubricants, food and beverage, waste and recycling, landfill and leachate, agriculture, utilities, pumping and environment, paper and packaging, trains and transport infrastructure and security.

We’d love to hear from you, so please give us a call!
